Tangible Clues from City and Campus Architecture:

It is important for the new proposed buildings to sit well within the campus. We borrowed architectural elements from not only the campus but the new architecture that the city of Surat might be witnessing in the near future.

In-Tangible Clues from Culture and Climate:

An inspiration from the larger life processes of the region plays a pivotal role in design decisions. In addition, a symbiotic relation between the local climate and user comfort is critical to any built form. We analysed the weather in coordination with the university Calendar.

Application of Context:

The Auditorium plan has been developed to cater to simultaneous & independent access for most programs.

While, it addresses multi-operation it also allows for varying level of privacy – from Regular Visitors to performers to VIPs.

The orientation of the design allows maximum utilization and ease of access to all stakeholders.

SUSTAINABLE

The proposal is ethically green at various levels of implementation. At the Planning level, the orientation

The building is designed to harvest solar energy, re-cycle waste water and reduce embodied energy.

The operational energy costs are further reduced by the careful use of materials. Glazing in the North. Double skin in the East and West. Dead Facade in the South. The glazing for the VIP entrances, since on the E-W side, are suggested to be treated with DGU.
